If at first you don't succeed....

So just a couple days ago, I had completed a project that I found on Pinterest. You remember - The Jagged State of Things. Or maybe you don't. Yup, I know that only like six of you actually looked at it. But that's not the point. At the end of the the post, I commented about how it wasn't exactly what I had hoped it would be.

So if you don't succeed (like you want), try again. So that's what I did. With a little help from my genius computer guy, I love the new result. But if you think I'm just going to show you so easily, it's like you don't know me at all.

Since I completed the project a few days ago, I knew something was off. It just wasn't quite right. But I wasn't sure how to fix it. I thought about trying out the other version and using the street maps instead of the state maps. But after spending most of the evening searching for those with no luck, I decided that maybe that wasn't the way to go. So I went back to the state idea, but this time they had to be bigger. Which we found bigger states thanks to google and the University of Texas, I think, and we were able to save those on the computer and get them to the exact size that would fill up more space and have the frame not look so massive. So my math wiz did all the calculating on how big we could print them then like magic....I found myself cutting out the states again. But at least they were bigger this time and therefore were easier to cut. I also cut out a template of a heart from a piece of paper and traced it so the hearts were the same on all three states. A much-needed improvement on my hearts from last time. Then we used the same process as before with tape on the back and wala!

So as any good blogger writer/DIY person knows: You always have to show the before picture with the after, so here ya go.

So in my (very humble) opinion it is ten times better.

So there is definitely a lesson in here: If at first you don't succeed, try try again.
