Buildin' in the Basement

There were a few projects that were on our to-do list when we first moved in two years ago, and some of them we are just now completing. One of those projects was to finish putting up drywall in the basement and build storage shelves. And finally, we have it done. Or at least mostly done.

The biggest hold up with the drywall project was that we had no way to transport the drywall here. Our cars aren't big enough and there's not strapping anything to the roof of either car like a kite because our antennae are on the top. But when we needed to get wood to build the swing set (check out Addie's awesome swing set here), we also got drywall and transported it all in the rented truck at once.

Then it was a matter of having time to do it and the know-how. But one day Rob disappeared down to the basement and started working on it. And in a couple hours I heard from him again and the project was done.

But that is only one small part of the story. There was a lot more that needed to be done down there. It's a storage are and we need a way to storage all of it.

It's not all junk. In fact none of it is. It's mostly all baby clothing and other baby things that we want to keep until we are done having kids. We just needed a way to organize it all better.

That project started months after we finished putting up drywall due to budgeting and time. But finally Rob was able to get started and build the shelves we needed.

He did an awesome job. And it is amazing. I love it. We are planning on building more on the other side but for now this makes a world of difference. It's really nice to have things organized. There is still work to be done but we are definitely on the right track right now.
