A Day in the Life: 37 Month Edition

I will admit that one of my favorite things I post about is our typical day. I love looking back and seeing how our days went and how they have changed. In just a few months they are going to change even more and I couldn't be more excited but I will definitely miss my all-day one-on-one Addison time.

But right now it's just me and Addie and this is what our typical day looks like now just about a month past her turning three.

0730 // My alarm goes off but as normal I turn it off and ignore it. I don't get up to it so I'm not sure why it's still set. It's supposed to be my alarm to get me up so I can exercise before Addison's up but I always end up exercising mid-morning and since the time change Addison has been getting up earlier. She was a solid 8:00 or later sleeper until Daylight Savings Time, so I'm definitely bummed she's getting up earlier. Today for the first time since the time change it's still quiet in her room though.

0806 // Rob asked me if he can go in and give the kid a hug. I'm still laying in bed and not ready to get up but I say yes. Then Rob is off to work, which means I have to get up because the kid is ready to get up.

0826 // Breakfast time; although she refuses to join me at the table.

0834 // Finally she decides to join me. I'm almost done however.

0841 // Exercise with my growing belly while Addie finishes eating then plays and entertains herself.

0914 // All done with that. Time to shower and get going for the day. We don't have a lot to do but we do have a grocery run. I'm hoping to get the laundry done as well (that never happened by the way). It's a rainy Monday so I don't really want to do much. While I shower and get dressed, she plays on the iPad.

0944 // We are both dressed and ready to go. "Okay kiddo you ready to go to the grocery store?" And her response? "Uh no but thanks."

I then put up my blog.

0956 // Off to the grocery store. We don't have a lot to get but it's got to get done.

1034 // Done at the grocery store and heading back home again.

1043 // I always make a deal with her, if she is good at the store then she gets to watch a movie while I put away groceries. So today she picked The Lion King.

I get the groceries put away then settle down with Addison on the couch with an egg roll (craving) and my book. I'm dragging today which means I'm not really going to accomplish anything. I may have quickly fallen asleep after that. But I got cuddles from my favorite girl so it all works out even if I got nothing done.

1214 // Movie over. I'm thinking lunch. Addie thinks she should just eat animal crackers. We came to an understanding. Animal crackers in the place of her normal chips.

1245 // Addie's eating things from her plate occasionally still but mostly has moved on to playing. I played with her when she wanted me to and when she did I did some reading.

1318 // Although she started out strong potty training she has lacked interest and we are taking our cues from her but she does sit on the potty chair before nap and bed every day. She asked so we now we sit.

1418 // The kid is down for quiet time and I'm thinking a nap sounds pretty good to me too after my snack and some Chicago Fire.

1630 // I go downstairs to start dinner. It's labor-intensive and a new recipe for us tonight.

1726 // I go up to wake up a still sleeping Addison. She follows me down a few minutes later. We play with her new Advent Christmas tress while we wait for dinner to cook.

1750 // Rob is home and Addie is pumped because she gets to play with her favorite fella.

1804 // Dinner is a little later than normal (we usually eat closer to 1730) but it's finally dinner time. Lasagna rolls and Texas Toast. I'm thinking I should have made a veggie. Oh well. There's spinach in the lasagna, so that counts, right?

1820 // Dinner is over which means play time until bath. And that's when I became useless. The baby was pushing on my lungs and my back was really hurting so Rob told me to go lay down while he took care of the kiddo. The man is a saint. He gave her a bath and got her all ready for bed. Then he joined me on my laziness until we fell asleep - I honestly couldn't even tell you what time that was. I'm always ready to pass out.
