A Pregnancy Story: Week 25

You are about the size of a rutabaga measuring in at about 13 1/2 inches long and 1 1/2 pounds. But
you are gaining more baby fat and losing the long and lean look. With the gaining of more baby fat, the wrinkled skin will smooth out and you will look even more like a newborn. You are gaining a sense of equilibrium, so you know which way is up and which is down. You are also growing more hair, and even now we would be able to tell its color and texture if we could see it.

I can't believe how fast this pregnancy is going. I'm only a week or so away from the third trimester. We are moving right along. My favorite thing is still definitely feeling you move. You are definitely wiggly. I am gaining weight a little faster. I'm getting frustrated at finding things to wear. My body is also feeling it a bit more. My back aches some. You also like to push up into my ribs so I have some spots around my rib cage that hurt a lot. I wish I was sleeping better but I just can't get comfortable, not to mention I have to get up a couple times a night to go to the bathroom. I'm definitely feeling bigger these days and noticing that I'm uncomfortable bending over and really doing any moving. I had an OB appointment this week and learned that you are measuring big. We are also moving on to every other week appointments from now on. It's really blowing my mind how quickly time is flying and we are so close to the third trimester.

For me picking a boy name was harder than picking a girls name. Addison's name came easily and her middle name just slid off the tongue. It was even easy coming up with a second girls name before finding out this was a boy. But initially back when I was pregnant with Addison and before we knew she was a girl, we came up with names either way. It was then that we came up with the name Connor James. At first I had paired the name Connor as a middle name with the first name Matthew but Rob wasn't convinced of that combination. I really wanted the name Addison Sophia, so I gave in on the boys name and Connor became the first name. Much like with how I picked Addison's first name, the middle name just rolled off the tongue and it stuck. But we put that name in our back pockets when we found out we were having a girl. This time around we talked about names again once we got pregnant. I easily came up with a girls name and we went back to the debate about a boys name. The name Connor James came back up again. We wanted to make sure we still liked it before we said for certain that was the name we were using even though Rob was convinced we were having another girl. But the name conversation took a backseat until we actually found out if it was a boy or a girl. Once we found out we were having a boy, we toyed with the name Connor James again. We wanted to make sure we still like it and that it would fit. I searched through other names and as I found names that I liked I said them out loud but none of them sounded right. None of them fit. So we circled back to Connor James again, and the more we thought about it the more we liked it. We liked that it was a name that everyone could easily pronounce yet wasn't necessarily overly common these days. So we settled on a name for this little boy: Connor James.
