A Pregnancy Story: Week 26

Now weighing in at 1 2/3 pounds and measuring at 14 inches, you are the size of a scallion. Last
week you were finally able to hear the outside, but now this week you can hear our voices. You are also inhaling and exhaling small amounts of amniotic fluid, which is important for the development of your lungs. By inhaling and exhaling the amniotic fluid, you are getting in good practice for when you will be needing to take your first breaths.

Well the week started out pretty crummy. We were heading back from Thanksgiving in Branson and I got sick in the car twice. Definitely not fun. The change of hormones at the beginning of each week is killing me. Luckily things got a little easier. No more morning sickness at least. You have been kicking like crazy. I'm starting to think we are both a little uncomfortable. But I'm definitely not going to complain about feeling you move so much because I definitely love it. However the really hard kicks when I'm trying to sleep are a little annoying. I guess you should kick me while you can and before you get in trouble for it. Emotionally I have been pretty up and down this week. I have good days and I have days that aren't so good. But I'm tired all the time. Exercise is going good. I just wish it was helping my back from hurting so much.

When I was pregnant with Addison, Stella Cat wanted nothing to do with me. She avoided me at all cost. She still slept next to me each night but as far away from me as possible. I barely saw her. However this time around seems to be completely opposite. At every possible moment Stella is right next to me. Each night when I go to bed, she is curled up right against me or on top of me. With Addison she avoided sleeping near my belly after getting kicked a few times. This time around Connor has given her a few good kicks yet she continues to sleep right against my belly. Apparently this time she can feel a change is coming and unlike last time when she avoided me at all cost, she sticks close and doesn't want me to forget about her. Stella has been so patient and such a good cat with Addison, and I have no doubt she will be the same way with Connor.
