Two Ladies & Their Gents: Spring 2016

Time for another update!

Rob

It's been busy working at Garmin after heading back being off for three weeks when Connor was born. We have definitely enjoyed having him around and not having to share him with the Marines, although he has been taking some classes to keep a full year. He was bummed when he had to go back to mowing the grass and doing yard work again because it's definitely not his favorite. Mostly he's been trying to do little things around the house and get things taken care.

Becca

Things have been a little bit more exciting for me. I have had to adjust to having two kids at home which has led to some days harder than others. But we are figuring things out. More excitedly, I recently came down with a really bad fever (102 degrees) and was not doing good at all. I thought I was getting better then the next day it spiked to 103.7 degrees. We ended up going to the ER (urgent care and minute clinics were closed since it was Sunday night) and they did some tests thinking it was just the flu. But turned out to be a kidney infection. I had to be on antibiotics and I slowly started feeling better. But halfway through all that I hurt my knee. I was definitely a mess for about a week. Now I'm much better. I could use some sleep but much better. So now that I'm feeling better I've been getting things taken care of - spring cleaning - and working on new stuff for my store (which won't be available until later this summer, but you can get sneak peeks now on Instagram @ourbeautifulmessshop).

Addison

She's my little rock star. I feel like I barely talk about her on here anymore but that's mostly due to the fact that she is doing so well and just doing her thing. She only has a few more speech therapy sessions to go to before the end of the year then we are thinking we will put her back in the classroom next year - which makes me sad to think about not spending all the time with her but I also know she'll love it and it'll be good for her. She's talking so much and is doing just so good all around. She spends her days playing. Lately she's gotten too much screen time thanks to the littlest member of the family but with the nicer weather on its way we have been spending more time outside and away from technology which she loves.

Connor

He's a newborn. There's not much more to say. There is some lack of sleep and a lot of feedings going on but that's pretty much how it goes at this stage of life. He's growing so quickly though. It's hard to believe he is also two months already. Time has flown by so fast. He's sleeping more each night, going longer between feeds, which has been amazing for us to get some sleep. He has days where he has to be held all day long and it makes for long days and there are days where he's content laying around anywhere I put him. I'm definitely looking forward to getting more of a schedule down, i.e. sleeping in the crib by himself for nap time. But for now we are just taking it one day at a time.

Stella

She's our more ignored member of the family. But she doesn't get fed every morning - that's Addison's job. She mostly hides during the day and sleeps it away until the evening when everyone settles then she'll come out to see us and see if she can get petted. Although she is the most ignored member, she is also the easiest. I'm definitely not going to complain about her - unless she's crying loudly in the room where I finally got Connor to sleep, that makes me angry.

So that's us. We are pretty boring right now. We are still just trying to find our rhythm around here and definitely looking forward to more of a routine from Connor.
