After Baby: 3 Months



"Nine Months Up, Nine Months Down" [exercise and getting my body back]
Right after I got cleared about a month ago I was really excited about exercising, but I only made it one or two days before that went out the window. So for the last month or so I haven't done anything - as long as you don't count chasing a 3 year old and caring for a 3 month old. But exercise-wise I haven't done anything. 

Just recently I made the decision to seriously get back to it. Although I'm still at just a couple pounds off from my pre-pregnancy weight, I just haven't been feeling great in my own skin. I haven't been really great. I just want to feel healthy, have more energy and just all around feel better. So I decided to get back to it again and since I have I have already started feeling better and I'm actually excited about exercising this time.

I can't imagine I'll have any more of these because I'm pretty much back to normal. I'm back on birth control which helps regulate my PCOS and my crazy hormones, which I desperately needed. That also means my cycle is back on track so physically I'm definitely feeling back to normal. 

Sleep? Who Needs Sleep?
It's funny that that's the title of that section because we get plenty of sleep. Honestly I was expecting more sleep problems with Connor but has been sleeping anywhere from 8-11 hours at night for a couple weeks now. So we definitely get plenty of sleep at night right now. 

"Baby Blues" and All those Pesky Hormones
My hormones have been adjusting thanks to getting back on the pill again, but after a week or so back on it I could already tell a difference. Emotionally I was definitely feeling better. That doesn't mean I don't have my tough days. Lately it feels like we have more difficult days than easy ones. We are three months in and we are still trying to figure out how to function during the day with just the three of us. I just haven't quite figured out the best routine and got our stride yet. But we will. It also means that some days are really hard. 

Then other days all seems well then Connor fights sleep. Or we hit a Wonder Week and everything is all over the place. Or it's not Connor but Addison having meltdowns all day. It's very draining and exhausting. I will admit that there has been a couple times that I have had to put Connor down and walk away to collect myself. I have also had to walk away from Addison and take a breather. I struggle because I feel bad that I have to do it but at the same time at least I know when to walk away and give myself a break so I can keep going. 

Things are getting better overall. Connor's getting older and it's getting a little easier. We are getting more sleep at night. Being back on the pill helps regulate my insane hormones again. Addison does pretty good helping me out during the day. And every day we fit another piece of the puzzle in and figure something out. It's baby steps and I'll take each little one as they come.
