Our Beautiful Mess Shop

Over a year ago I got this idea in my head that I wanted to open an Etsy shop. Of course that was all I had. I have never fancied myself an overly creative person but I wanted to feel productive and make a little extra money. So somehow I came up with this idea to make fabric button earrings. As I made them, although they were continue, I realize that I would never wear anything like them. I didn't have confidence in my own product and in essence doomed myself from the start.

It took over a year for my first sale and by that point I was ready to move on. Although I wasn't ready to give up on the store completely.

I jumped through a couple ideas before I came up with one that I actually liked. Throughout all this Rob was incredibly supportive and encouraged me to find what I was passionate about. He did what he could to help out as I came up with ideas being my sounding board and helping me when I struggled through something.

After months of trying to figure out what I really did want to do, I finally found what I love doing. I found a creative outlet. One that I'm proud of. One that I have enjoyed every step of the way.

So in just a month from now on August 1, I am re-launching my Etsy shop (although it is still technically open and the button earrings are still available) to include my own creation of everyday necklaces. And I couldn't be more excited. And of course terrified and nervous. But very excited.

I have been working for the last few months on prototypes, drawing out ideas, finding supplies, creating simple yet beautiful necklaces for everyday.

Those are just some of what I will be selling starting on August 1 To see the entire collection you will have to come and check out the store when it opens or you can follow on Instagram @ourbeautifulmessshop to see sneak peeks along the way.

But for my dedicated readers here at D.G. I'm offering a special discount. When you check out make sure to put in DEFYINGGRAVITY16 for 5% off your entire order.

I have really enjoyed this journey so far and I hope to continue to creative and make more products that everyone will love!

xo, B
