Connor James: 9 Months

Dear Connor::

How are you already 9 months?! That just doesn't seem possible. You are growing so fast and changing so much. But you have always been and probably will always be my happy kid. You are so easy-going and happy all the time, even when you aren't feeling good.

You have been a busy couple of weeks. At the end of last month you started army crawling. And you have only gotten faster. And more determined. At first you would only use one leg to push yourself around and you kept the other in the air. Now you are pushing off with both feet. You are still army crawling. Every once in awhile you get up on your knees but then flatten and off you go again. But you are fast.

You are a pretty impulsive kid. Your sister used to sit and think about it if moving was worth it and if getting in trouble was worth it, but you just for right for it. I am constantly moving you away from cords and vents. You also love shoes. And even when I move you away, you keep going for it anyway. You get something in your head and that's all you focus on. Apparently I have another determined kid.

You are still a great eater. We have a pretty good routine down. You definitely love food. And even better you have started feeling yourself puffs. It makes it so much easier because you can eat while I get your lunch of purees ready or dinner ready. Of course you get puffs all over the place. I find them on the floor, in your lap, down your sleeve. But it's definitely nice.

Another awesome thing you have started doing is sitting up from your tummy. Once you started crawling, you would get mad once you got to where you were going because you couldn't get yourself back up. Then one day I noticed you almost had yourself back up once, I mentioned you would be sitting back up in no time. Then the next day you were doing it no problem. It is definitely nice because you are becoming more capable every day. It also helps with entertaining yourself.

We had a nice day this fall and we decided to let you swing for the first time. And you loved it! You had a ball. You couldn't stop smiling. You were laughing. You just couldn't get enough of it. Unfortunately the weather has since turned cooler and our swinging days are behind us until spring. But we will definitely doing plenty of it when it is nice again.

You have your days when you are easy to please and always smiling. Then you have your days when you are very clingy and want to be held all the time. You got a cold recently which has made our days and nights a lot longer. On top of that you also had a small double ear infection. All at the same time you also have two teeth coming in (giving you five teeth on top and two on the bottom). You are definitely have a rough go. But finally on the mend and doing better. However because you haven't felt great and have a Wonder Week going on, you have definitely wanted to be held a lot more. and spend a lot of time proclaiming, "Mama!" when I'm not holding you.

But no matter what you are feeling, you are always smiling. In fact so much so that everyone is always commenting about how happy you are all the time. You are such an easy-going kid and so happy. You are awesome and handsome and happy. And I love everything about you. You are a great kid and just keep being you. I love you, goon.

Love, Mama
