Connor James: 10 Months

Dear Connor::

You are such a light. You are seriously the happiest kid I have ever met. You have a double ear infection and you are still smiling. You have four teeth coming in at once and there you are smiling still. I love how easy-going you are and how much you just love being here. I hope that never changes.

You have had so much going on during this last month. You started waving recently which is adorable. You love to wave and do it every time we pick up Addie from school. After you wave, clapping is never far behind. You figured out how to do that and get so excited each time. I just love how you clap, holding one hand still and using the other to actually clap. You are just so excited and happy each time. But I haven't seen you as excited as when you said dada for the first time. Finally you said dada and we got so excited that you just kept saying it and clapping over and over. It was adorable.

You are constantly on the move. And you are fast. You are still mostly army crawling but you have finally started doing some crawling on your hands and knees. You definitely aren't as fast so you seem to prefer the method that gets you where you want to go the fastest. We have learned that you are determined. When we tell you no, you just move faster almost as if you know that you have a limited time before we are going to pick you up and move you so you have to get there as fast as possible. You definitely get something into your head and you are hard to sway any other way. Also this month, you have started climbing up stairs. You haven't gotten very far but you can get about three or four steps are this point. But you are definitely on the move and will be walking before I know it (you are pulling up on everything now).

I'm a little behind on feeding you table food but we have had a lot going on. We did finally give you some non-puree food for the first time this month. It was cheese but at least it was something. Over Christmas you had quite a few different kinds of table foods and you loved it. We have noticed you have been hungrier at dinner which is a definite sign that you are ready for more. That's what we are really going to be working on in the next month. It will definitely be easier for you to chew as you get more bottom teeth too. You have five teeth on top and two on the bottom right now (although there are about four coming in on the bottom currently), so chewing is a little odd.

This month was a little rough because you had your first cold, plus a double ear infection that took awhile to get rid of. Then you finally started feeling better but then started feeling bad again with teething. You have had a heck of a month but you are making it and still doing awesome.

You are still doing great. You are exploring the world and curious about everything. You love to watch and follow your sister. You can't wait to keep up with her better. You are pretty much content with everything. You love playing and chewing on everything.

We just can't get enough of you. We have joked that 2016 has been a rough year and you are our only bright spot. Your dad always says that you are just so awesome that the rest of the year had to be bad to even it out. We love you so much and we feel so lucky to be your parents.

I love you, sweet baby.

Love, Mama
