A Day in the Life: 4.3 Year & 11 Month Edition

7:05 -- The hubs gets up to shower after we both ignore several earlier alarms. Connor had a rough night so we had a rough night.

7:15 -- Rob's out of the shower. My turn. It's also time to get Addie up for school. I'm hoping Connor just keeps on sleeping this morning after last night.

7:30 -- Connor is still sleeping (please stay that way!). I'm out of the shower and Addie is dressed and down having breakfast with Rob.

7:49 -- I have a bowl of cereal and watch Bones on the DVR. Addie is finally done and getting shoes on.

7:58 -- Rob and Addie head to work and school, respectively. I get my blog up.

8:16 -- I can hear Connor. I really hoped he would stay down longer (he was up from 2:45-4:00ish last night). I'm not going to get him until I'm sure he's up and ready.

8:22 --  I guess he's really up and I need to go get him. It's going to be a long day.

8:32 -- Connor got dressed (or rather I got him dressed) after much delaying on his part then down for breakfast: some Cheerioes, yogurt and a 4oz bottle.

8:51 -- We head downstairs for playtime and PT. I wish it was me with the playtime because I definitely don't want to do PT. I also sneak in a quick arm workout and my crunch challenge.

9:05 -- Connor continues to get into everything. And I ice my knee (20 minutes) after finishing PT.

10:21 -- We move upstairs. I tried putting Connor down but he didn't go for it so I just get him up and playing. And now I hope the afternoon nap is nice and long. I get some stuff cleaned a little, mostly just putting away clothes, picking up toys, and sorting laundry.

Normally at 11:15 I would be getting us ready to go pick up Addie but since the knee surgery Rob has been doing a lot more pick ups. And today he's helping me out and getting her, plus bringing me caffeine. Definitely needing it today. I am dragging and nap time can't get here soon enough!

11:33 -- Rob and Addie are home! Connor and Addie are pumped to see each other.

11:47 -- Time for lunch. Connor has black beans, peas, peaches and a cracker. Addie has PB&J. I heat up some freezer White Castles - not as good as the real deal.

11:55 -- Rob heads back to work. We just keep on eating.

12:17 -- Everyone is done eating. I clean the kitchen while the kids play in the sitting room - or more accurately put make a bigger mess. Basically no big surprise but now playtime until nap time (or in Addie's case quiet time).

1:02 -- Time to start getting ready for quiet/nap time. Addie goes potty and plays quietly while I give Connor his 8oz bottle. He finished and was almost asleep when I laid him down he was so tired.

1:16 -- I go to Addie's room to read and sing to her. I know she's not going to sleep but I don't care as long as she plays quietly in her room.

1:22 -- Thank goodness for nap time. I usually ice my knee when I can during the day. But I need it more than normal today. I didn't do something stupid, I was just being a mom and saved Connor from falling down the stairs backwards. So ouch. I wasn't going to do much today - haven't done much with my knee - but definitely not doing anything now.

2:37 -- Connor is screaming his head off for some reason. This nap was nowhere near long enough and I have no idea why he's awake. I think I'm going to start crying soon too.

2:59 -- After rocking him and giving him a 6oz botle - no I still don't have this table food feeding thing down - he's in the after cry phase. He's exhausted and needs to sleep but just like the last few nights his sleep is really off and he's not getting near enough.

3:46 -- Addie is up and out of her room asking to "play quietly downstairs." Then immediately she asked for the iPad. This day is endless so sure why not for a bit.

4:45 -- Finally hear Connor. I knew he needed the sleep. Of course he would wake just as I was about to start dinner. So saw that coming.

4:51 -- Connor is having a snack although he mostly just looks dazed. I start dinner.

5:37 -- We sit down for dinner. Rob isn't home yet but the kids are ready so we eat. We are having copycat In-N-Out Cheeseburgers and Baked Garlic Parmesan Potato Wedges. The potato wedges were okay - not a favorite. The cheeseburgers were different (haven't decided if good different or bad different).

6:04 -- Rob is home finally. I'm done. Connor's done. The 4-year-old is refusing to eat. Rob is digging in.

6:16 -- Everyone is done. Rob does a few dishes while we talk and the kids don't stop wiggling.

6:25 -- We head downstairs. Rob starts a load of laundry while I put together an order that someone placed earlier that day. The kids play.

After I finish, we all hang out in the family room until it's time to get ready for bed.

7:33 -- Connor gets a bedtime snack before his bedtime 8oz bottle. That boy is always hungry. Then it's time to get ready for bed for both. Rob handles bedtime for both these day so I can get through my almost hour of evening PT.

Then after both kids are in bed, Rob finishes up the dishes and I finish up PT. We then head upstairs to watch Timeless and hang out in the bedroom until we go to bed.

The End.
