2:38 // Happy Friday

So before I get started on this story I should say this is AM. Two nights ago before Rob and I had fallen asleep we heard Addison talking. We go into the hallway to listen then into her room to discover she had been talking very loudly in her sleep. She didn't seem to need anything and just wanted to go back to sleep. So we headed back to our room.

We go to bed and hours later we are woken up by a loud crash then a scream. We race sans glasses into her room to find her on the floor, her legs tangled in the blankets. She sits up and crawls into Rob's lap and just cries. We tried to figure out if there was anything seriously hurt but she was screaming so much that we didn't really know. Everything looks okay and she was moving okay but it was hard to tell.

It wasn't until she sit back that I noticed blood on Rob's shoulder. And as a parent your heart stops for that split second when you see your kid's blood. She was still upset and rightfully when I saw the gash in her chin.

I carefully cleaned her up and got her a Shopkins' band-aid per her request. I made her smile so we could check her mouth then her eyes to make sure she was all good. And she was. The only damage done was to her chin.

After she accused which pillow caused her to spill out of bed, she went back to bed. But I had trouble settling in and falling back to sleep. I ended up reading for another hour before I could finally fall asleep again.

By the morning I noticed she had bled through her band-aid again which meant another shirt for me to clean up (she was really worried about her shirt last night). But she was in good spirits and told me it hurt a little but it was better. By the time she got home from school it was looking really good.

Poor girl had quite the spill and gave mama quite the fright in the middle of the night. There is not much more jarring then hearing a crash then your children screaming suddenly in the middle of the night.

And there's not much more relieving than knowing that your kid is okay with no emergency room trip necessary. We all survived the night and she's back to her normal antics so everything seems to be all good again. Although there is a pillow right where her head would land should she fall off the bed again. You know, just in case.

Have a great weekend!
Happy Friday!
