Making the Cut: Moms Into Fitness 28 Day Slimdown

It is time yet again for me to get going on another workout. Truthfully I was really really ready. I couldn't quite finish my last one because I fell during my last week and I needed to take a break to give my body (read knee) a chance to recover. I also had a rough week eating last week. I just couldn't stop eating and it sure wasn't that healthy.

So I was ready to get going again. This workout is one that I have never done before but it's another Moms Into Fitness so I was so excited. I actually got this one while I was still in the knee brace last winter and dreaming of being able to workout. So I'm excited to finally get to it.

This one is a four week program. The first two weeks you do the Shred and Cardio HIIT workouts every other day with Friday being Core & Flexibility. The second two weeks you do Arms and Buns, Legs and Back every other day and still with Core & Flexibility on Fridays.

Shred

I actually really liked this workout a lot. It was very little cardio but mostly all strength training. I like how simple her moves are but how effective they are. It's a good workout all around. I felt like I didn't waste my 28 minutes of getting up early (mostly) to do this one.

Cardio HIIT

Hello cardio! When she does cardio she is serious about cardio. It's nothing insane as far as the moves are concerned but you are definitely exhausted about the end of the workout and definitely ready for some water. But you can always count on her workouts to burn some serious calories and to not feel like you have wasted your thirty minutes of exercise!

Core & Flexibility

I love and hate this one. Core is tough because apparently mine is all kinds of weak. But really it's the flexibility at the end that I have mixed feelings about. I love all the stretching. My leg (the one that I had knee surgery on) always is so tight so it feels so good, but let's just face it I'm not a flexible person. Sometimes it's on the brink of painful because my entire body is so tight. So like I said I have mixed feelings about this one because on one hand it feel so good with all the stretching and on the other, it just isn't fun and sometimes even hurts as I work out the tightness in my muscles.

Arms

My arms were shaking through this workout. Even after two weeks of this one (although I only did it twice total) I still had to take breaks. By the last time I only took like one break and pushed through all the shaking and muscle fatigue because I knew it was the last time I would be doing it. Honestly I should have been doing that all along because that's the way to see the change in your body but I didn't, so lesson learned and next time.

Buns, Legs & Back

My legs felt like jelly after this workout. I even struggled to walk but I took that as a good thing. This was an awesome leg workout, which is exactly what I need with my knee still recovering. I definitely felt like I got the best workout on my knee that I have gotten in a long time. I was actually the most proud of myself throughout this workout because I pushed through all of it without stopping and was able to complete it and feel like I got a killer leg workout. I definitely felt it for days after and was all kinds of sore.

-----

Overall, this was a good workout. The program was short - only four weeks. And I know what you are thinking I do this five days a week and that equals 20 days and not 28 like the title says. You could add in an optional Sunday Runday each Sunday but I chose not to because I don't run and quite frankly I still can't run since the knee surgery. So it was only 20 days for me. But I felt like I got an awesome workout and I felt awesome after doing the workouts even if I had some motivation problems getting started. Once I completed them it was definitely worth it.

I only ended up missing one day with this program because I was sick and cardio just wasn't going to happen. But unlike many moons ago when I would feel guilty for missing that day even if I was sick or couldn't do it for a completely excusable reason, I don't feel guilt about it. I shouldn't so I think I'm really growing as a person.

Anyway, if you want this check this workout out for yourself, you should go to momsintofitness, and you can sign up for her streaming program to get all her workouts or like me just buy the download and there you go. Either way, this was a quick program and each workout was under 30 minutes and a good burn and sweat!
