Oy

Honestly I meant to come back to the blog this week but it's been a heck of a week. If you have ever had a sick kid then you know it drains you.

I had taken the week because we had just been going and going and going and I needed to take the break. Then at the end of last week, Addison got sick and even missed school on Friday. They had a cough and low-grade fever going around school and she caught it. Oh the joys of preschool.

She was better by Saturday evening but Connor started with a fever. I also got a fever and started feeling worse. Connor is still fighting his sickness off and he is more draining to be sick than Addison being so young. Slowly things are settling though.

Yesterday was Addison's last day of the year - winter break! I used to love winter break. And honestly as much as having both around all the time sounds exhausting, I'm also looking forward to not having to drive back and forth to school. I'm also looking forward to being able to put Connor down for a nap and not having to wake up him, especially when he needs the rest right now being sick.

Addison's class party was yesterday and it was fun. Connor was in good spirits thank goodness and we were able to go. I had promised Addison I was going to be there, but we were running a little late. By the time we got there they had already started snack time and most of the parents were there. When I looked at her she was rubbing her eyes but her face definitely brightened when she saw us. Connor even rushed over to give her a hug.

After the party I asked her about her rubbing her eyes. She said her eyes wanted to water. When I asked her why she told me it was because we weren't there. I felt so bad, but she said that when we showed up she was so happy. Poor girl thought we weren't coming. Luckily we did and she was happy and had a great time.

We have mostly just been trying to get better, so we have been hanging out at home. So that's about all the exciting things that have been going on to catch up on. Just battling sickness. I am definitely looking forward to having this break to try to get over all this before she goes back to school.

So that's what we have been up to. It's been an exhausting two weeks to say the least.
