Connor James: 23 Months

Dear Connor::

The countdown is on until you turn two! I can't believe how big you are getting! You have so much personality. You definitely make our lives so much brighter and happier. You are so amazing and so handsome and just such an awesome kid.

This was an exciting month for you because you got yourself your first haircut! Of course you had no idea what was going on and you definitely weren't sure about it when it was happening. You were excited at first to pick out the Batman chair that was playing Mickey on the TV, but once you realized you were stuck in the chair with some lady messing with your hair, you weren't so crazy about it. But you got through it and you look like such an handsome little boy with short hair. You did great even if you weren't crazy about the idea initially.

You are one of the happiest and easy-going kids that I have ever met. You just go with the flow. However your personality is so strong and you definitely know the word no. You don't just say no though you put your hand in the hair and you really put some force behind the word. Luckily that's not the only word you know because you will answer yeah to things when you do mean it. You have so much that you understand. You answer our questions and you definitely know what you want.

I do love how much more talking you have been doing lately. You are so much more vocal. You do a lot of repeating these days and sometimes come out with things completely unexpected. I'm just thrilled you have been doing so much talking. For the most part you are able to communicate what you want although we are still working on not just whining whenever you need help or want something. You may still be slightly behind the other kids of your same age, but you are definitely getting there.

You are definitely a mama's boy. You do love your dad but as soon as naptime or bedtime comes around all you want is for mama to get you ready and read. You reach for mama first and we are definitely buddies. However you do love your big sister. You are all about copying everything Addison does. You follow her. She want to play with her. She repeat her. She calls your her best friend and although you can't say it (or even know what it means) you definitely feel the same about her.

These days you are a bit of a picky eater. You do love food but you love what you love and it's hard to get you to try other things. Most of the time the only way I can get you to try anything is to feed you things from my plate off my fork even if you have the exact same thing right in front of you.

Your favorite things these days are much the same as they have been. You have gotten into a few more movies lately like Monsters, Inc and Toy Story. You love Brown Bear, Brown Bear What do you See along with some Thomas the Train books and of course your old standby Giraffes Can't Dance. You are always carrying around cars and trucks and wanting to lay out train tracks. You just like what you like.

You are such a sweet boy that makes us laugh on a daily basis. You have learned how to give hugs and kisses. You love to dance and sometimes you never stop moving. You make our lives so much better and I am so happy to have such an amazing little boy as a son. I love you so much.

Love, Mama
