All the General Things

The declutter saga continues. So far I have gone through clothes (although I should mention that I found another very full tub of girls clothes that no lie almost made me cry).  got through all the books then finally through all the papers.

So now I'm on to general which includes video games, DVDs, CDs, pet supplies, craft supplies, coins and cords.

Not too long ago, Rob and I had gone through all the DVDs, CDs, and video games so we knew that wouldn't be too awful. However I knew going through craft stuff would be another story. I knew that was where I needed to start and the first step was gathering all of it.

Turns out I tried a lot of different crafts trying to find what I wanted to do without really figuring out what I liked. So it was time to get that stuff gone. Truthfully I had no idea I had that much stuff just sitting around. But there was nothing to do but start sorting. I had beads. I had paints. I had scrapbook paper. But the majority of what I have is planning stickers, washi tape, and die cuts.

It took me an entire day pretty much - with frequent breaks because kids - to go through everything. By the time the day was over, I still had some to do but the majority of it was taken care of.

But I didn't know what to do with all my planner stuff I didn't want anymore. Then it hit me. My kids love to craft. They are always bugging me about using my washi tape so why not give them their own stuff. So everything I didn't want went into their arts and crafts tub just for me. They were so excited. It wasn't exactly getting it out the house but whatever, my kids are pumped and have crafts to do for days and days this summer.

The only thing left in the craft world isn't exactly craft stuff but more old shop stuff. If you didn't know I use to own a jewelry shop. That seems like a lifetime ago. I had just packed everything away and didn't deal with it but now it was time to deal with it. So I started sorting. I put the stuff I could on amazon to sell, threw away from stuff then started taking pictures of the charms I had left. I decided to reopen that shop for only four months in order to sell off the charms as supplies (not as necklaces) in order to get rid of all of that. Of course I have to have time to actually take those pictures and make the listings but I'll get there. It's at the top of my list of things to do so I'll get there soon enough. (However if there are certain charms or something of that nature you are looking for, let me know I may have something.)

After completing all the craft supplies I was pretty much done. I did find a box of games that we went through and decided to get rid of a few things but most were staying. And like I said we had already gone through DVDs and we didn't have any CDs sitting around the house anymore, so that was already done.

Rob went through two boxes of cords we had and decided what we should keep and what was leaving - I had no clue what was what. We have a jar of coins here but that's fine. I think that's just silly to worry about at all. And as for pet supplies unless we plan to get rid of Stella and her food, there really isn't anything to get rid of.

So with that the category was done. It's actually be done for awhile now but I just haven't gotten around to writing this post. Life has been crazy I guess. I have even started on my next category which is another one that is much needed.
